Multimedia Multi-meaningful Oral Histories"
Her goal: wanted students to not be passive receivers of video, but instead
be active participants
Best thing: students are learning history from the ground up
- greater degree of student scholarship

- not reliant on traditional methods of research
- addresses multiple learning styles

You must go out and contact sponsors / people to help
- sometimes companies will donate resources with no strings attached!
- In first year we got 5 iMacs, some cameras
One of our problems is we don't take enough time to document
Most of us agree with Howard Gardner's Multiple Intellitences Theory
- this is supported by our project
- also supports PBL (problem based learning)
Linda Wood "Oral Histories in Your Classroom"
- good book to use as a guide
Beware of copyright, we are OK now because we just share it with our classroom
- we want to share some of this on our local cable network, that will change
the copyright calculation!
Check out Apple booth, will be great sessions and training including someone
from ABC talking about shooting videoOther
Austin ISD has done some QTSS broadcast events
Sponsoring Austin student digital film festival
- encouraging students not to use copyrighted songs
- because they want to broadcast this on their website
