In this course, you will be writing a final
term-paper instead of taking the final exam and in so doing, you'll
be demonstrating your ability to conduct
independent research relevant to the course.

this term-paper requirement is to
submit a well-written formal proposal by November
4th.

papers, both in class and on the course syllabus, but dialectal variation can be another great topic for
you to work on.
