Baseball Review Game
This game was created during my
field experience at Murfee Elementary during the Fall of 2004. How to Play: 1. Prepare a list of questions that provide practice, information recall, or skill application. 2. Set up a "baseball field" in your classroom with home plate, first base, second base, and third base. You can use actual desks or even print the Renaissance Baseball sheet on a transparency. When I conducted the activity, I created a large poster with a baseball diamond, including all bases. I also made cutouts of baseball players and laminated everything. I put velcro on the bases and on the backs of the players so that they could actually "stick" to the base they were on. 3. Arrange your class into two teams. Flip a coin to determine which team will "bat" first. Ask the first batter a question, if they get it right, they move to first base. If the second batter also correctly answers their question, they move to first, forcing the first batter to second base, and so on. If a batter misses a question, they are out and the next batter gets the same question. Just like real baseball, three misses and it's time for the other team to take the field! (I found it necessary limit the amount of questions asked in each inning in order to give both teams adequate time to play). Here are some other resources: Extending the
