AKS Minutes - May 2, 2005

Members in Attendance: Gary Floyd Carl & Lisa Holtman Bo & Jo Long Location: 2214 S. Manhattan Gary called the meeting to order at 7:45 pm (Gary was late) OLD BUSINESS: Minutes of the April 5, 2005 meeting were distributed, discussed and approved. Motion by Carl, second by Jo, motion carried. By-Laws were distributed and discussed. The following corrections were noted: remove the word “in” Under Article V—Meetings, Sections A & B (see below). Article V - Meetings Section A - The annual meeting for the membership for the installation of officers and for receiving annual reports from the Secretary and Treasurer shall be held at the regular meeting time in January of each year. Notice of the annual meeting must be submitted to the membership in by e-mail, at least five (5) days prior to said meeting. Notice will also be posted on the AMARILLO KOI SOCIETY website. Section B - The regular meetings of the membership shall be held the first Tuesday of each month at a time and place to be determined by majority vote of all those members. A change in the established date, time and location of these regular meetings may be made by majority vote of the members present at any regular meeting and must be submitted to the membership in by e-mail. Notice will also be posted on the AMARILLO KOI SOCIETY website Motion to approve By-Laws (with two corrections) by Bo, second by Carl, motion carried. TREASURER’S REPORT: Carl stated our account balance is $634.00. He also said that he would go ahead and pay our AKCA Membership dues in June. NEW BUSINESS: Carl gave everyone a copy of an email he had received from the Dallas Koi Club. The email was about their upcoming Koi Show. They were asking if we knew how many would be attending the banquet on the Saturday, June 4th. We discussed this for awhile and asked Carl if he would go ahead and RSVP for 6 of us (Carl, Lisa, Gary, Debbie, Bo and Jo). We also briefly discussed our plans for attending the AKCA Seminar in Tulsa. CALL TO FLOOR: NONE NEXT MEETING: We decided not to have a meeting in June because there are so many other Koi events going on during the month. The July meeting will be held at Bo & Jo’s house on the 5th. Meeting adjourned CLUB ACTIVITY: We viewed approximately 1/2 of the Koi Fixx DVD.
