Members in Attendance: Gary & Debbie Floyd Carl Holtman Bo & Jo Long Denise Conder (Doug arrived late) Guests in Attendance: Connie Chapman Leslie Shufeldt Location: 301 Mourning Dove Drive (cookout) Meeting was called to order at 8:45 pm OLD BUSINESS: A quorum was not present at the June meeting, therefore no business took place. Minutes of the May 8, 2007 meeting were distributed, discussed and approved. Motion by Bo, second by Carl, motion carried. Gary reported that he had received an official letter from the IRS granting federal income tax exemption to the club under section 501(c)(3). We briefly discussed the additional information provided by the IRS, including: Tax return filing requirements
TREASURER’S REPORT Carl presented copies of the treasurer’s report to everyone. Our balance is $2,818.14. This amount does not include the entire net proceeds from the BCS project. Gary is working on finalizing the numbers now and should have it for us next month. NEW BUSINESS Details of the upcoming TAPS Convention in San Antonio (July 27th and 28th) were discussed. Gary stated that he and Debbie would be going. He invited all AKS members to attend. Additional information is available on their website http://www.texaps.org/index.html We discussed the upcoming Rocky Mountain Koi Club Show in Denver on August 17th through 19th. Bo reported that he would be taking 4 to 5 fish and Gary would be taking 1 to 2 fish. All of the members in attendance said they were planning on going. Additional information is available on their website http://www.rmkc.org Our guests (Connie and Leslie) decided to join our club. We were all very pleased and welcomed them. CALL TO FLOOR: None NEXT MEETING: Bo & Jo’s house on Sunday, August 5th @ 10:00 am. We will be catching the fish and getting them ready for the Denver Koi Show. We decided to meet in the morning, before it gets hot. Meeting adjourned. Motion by Debbie, second by Carl, motion carried. CLUB ACTIVITY: We watched the fireworks display over Lake Tanglewood.
