AKS Minutes - August 1, 2006

Members in Attendance: Gary & Debbie Floyd Carl Holtman Bo & Jo Long Denise Conder Location: 6508 Garwood Meeting was called to order at 8:25 p.m. OLD BUSINESS: Minutes of the July 11, 2006 meeting were distributed, discussed and approved (with one minor correction to be made). Motion by Bo, second by Carl, motion carried. Putting the member roster on the website was discussed. It was unanimous that it should only be put out there if it was password protected. TREASURER’S REPORT: Carl handed out the report and went over the last months transactions. Our balance is $1,166.33 NEW BUSINESS: Gary reported that he has been submitting our club’s activity information to AKCA and Koi USA on a regular basis and said he would follow-up to make sure we are in the next published issue. A lengthy discussion took place in regards to the Baptist Community Services (BCS) watergarden project in downtown Amarillo. Denise made a motion to prepare a proposal for consulting/advising services, the motion was seconded by Bo. It was decided that we would ask for a tax deductible donation in the amount of $1,800.00 for our services. In addition, a motion was made by Debbie and seconded by Jo to prepare a proposal to provide Winter and Spring services. Our proposed fees (donation) will be $1,000 for Winterizing and $800 for Spring start-up. An official proposal will be prepared by Jo and sent to the club’s officers for approval. The official copy of the club’s proposal will be maintained by the Treasurer, for billing purposes. Gary presented Bo with the AKCA Koi Person of the Year award. (Link to pictures) We discussed attending the Rocky Mountain Koi Club Show in Aurora Colorado on August 19 & 20. Several members plan on going — but travel and lodging details were not finalized during the meeting. CALL TO FLOOR: None NEXT MEETING: Not discussed as to location, date would be September 5th.
