AKS Minutes - April 4, 2006

Members in Attendance: Gary Floyd Carl Holtman Bo & Jo Long Location: 6508 Garwood Gary called the meeting to order at 7:25 pm. OLD BUSINESS: Minutes of the March 14, 2006 meeting were distributed, discussed and approved. Motion by Bo, second by Carl, motion carried. AKCA’s KHA (Koi Health Advisor) Program was discussed. Gary shared information he had printed from the AKCA website. Carl said he would review the materials and let us know at a future date if he was interested in completing the program. Gary reported he had downloaded and printed the application materials required for 501 C3 status (Nonprofit). He said he would work on them to complete as much as he could and bring them to the next meeting to be reviewed and finalized. Gary reported he had submitted the club’s nomination for Koi Person of the Year (Bo Long). TREASURER’S REPORT Our account balance is $735.33. NEW BUSINESS Carl reported he had spoken to Larry Borger, new owner of the Applejack Ranch, and Mr. Borger asked if the club would be interested in helping clean the pond. He would like us to show him and his maintenance personnel how to do it properly and they would do it in the future. He said that he would be willing to donate $500 to the club for our participation, supply a load of dirt (for plant repotting) and buy all necessary supplies. We discussed this and came up with two possible dates (April 29th or May 13th). Carl said that he would talk to Mr. Borger and let us know which date would work better for him.
