My affiliations and Community involvement.

Junction Independent School District, Board of Trustees Place 1: In 2004 I got involved with the school system, and politics.  I ran un-apposed for place 1 on the School Board and was sworn in on May 12, 2004 and just recently got elected to my second term, running un-apposed for the second time.  My current term will expire in May of 2010. I served as the Board Vice-President during the later half of my first year. I am currently serving at the Board Secretary.  I was also the first board member in our districts history to be certified by TASB and receive a Boardmanship Basic Certification in 2006.  In August of 2006 I was accepted into the Leadership TASB program,   a program that hand selects Only 35 School Board Trustees from across the state to attend the year long intensive leadership development program. I graduated from the program in 2007 as a Master Trustee.

President, Junction Rotary Club: I've been a member of the Junction Rotary Club since 2001.  I am the current President for the 2007-2008 year. I served as the club Treasurer for three years from 2002 to 2005 and served as Vice-President for the 2005-2006 year and President-Elect 2006-2007.   I am in charge of Annual Exotic Hunt Raffle which our biggest fund raiser of the year, raising over $8,7000 for the past 4 years, which will be used to award scholarships, support local charities, and give to the Polio Plus Foundation.  I was named the 2003-2004 and 2005-2006 Fundraiser of the Year.    I am also the webmaster of the club website. www.junctionrotary.org and in charge of the soon to be charted first Interact Club in Junction.

President, Kimble Hospital Foundation: In Jan. 2007 I was elected to serve a three year term as President of the Kimble Hospital Foundation.   It is a foundation that will raise money to support and expand our hospital here in Junction. I was elected to be the first treasurer for the Kimble Hospital Foundation in 2003 and served in that capacity until Jan. 2007.  My appointment as President marks a new beginning for the Foundation which we will rebuild our membership base and be more aggressive in serving the needs of the Kimble County Hospital.

Leadership TASB Class of 2007:  In October of 2006 I began my year long intensive program in the Leadership TASB Class. Only 36 School Board Trustees are selected each year. I Graduated on June 16 as a Master Trustee, Class of 2007.  My groups Class presentation ("Size Matters" - What Districts need to know about Consolidation) - was selected to be presented at the 2007 TASB/TASA State Conference held in Dallas in September 2007.

Junction Volunteer Fire Department:  In March 2003, I became an active member of the Junction VFD and the Kimble County Ranch Fire Association.  In March of 2008 I was selected as the 2007 Junction VFD & KCRFA "Firefighter of the Year".

Chamber of Commerce Webmaster:  Developed and maintain the Website for the Junction Chamber of Commerce. www.junctiontexas.net.  I also develop and maintain websites for other organizations as well, they include: Junction Rotary Club,
Texas Tech University Center at Junction, Red Creek Nature Ranch, Cavu Canyou Ranch, Rocksprings Chamber of Commerce, Central Texas Hills and Rivers Region, Hill Country Real Estate, LLC., Issack's Restaurant, and the Rio Bonito Ranch

SCUBA Diver: Working with the Junction Volunteer Fire Department allowed me to get certified as an Advanced Scuba Diver as of November 2004.
